Kathy has been teaching piano for over 30 years. A native of Albany, NY, she made her musical debut at the age of 5 singing Me and My Teddy Bear in a grade school program. The daughter of singer and choral director Ralph Tooley, music was a large part of her growing up.

Kathy holds a bachelor of science degree in Music Education with a major in piano from the College of St. Rose in Albany. She was a student of Eleanor Schweiker and Alice McCullen. Kathy has also done graduate work at Crane School of Music at Potsdam and Syracuse University.

Kathy currently is the Director of Music at Clinton United Methodist Church. She has taught vocal music at Adirondack Central and New Hartford Central and was soprano soloist at Temple Emmanu-el in Utica.

Kathy was a member of the Saratoga-Potsdam Choral Institute and sang with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center under conductors Eugene Ormandy, Rafael Frubeck de Burgos, William Smith and James Levine. She was music director for children's theatre and major productions Fiorello, The Fantastiks and Music Man at Players Theatre, and vocal coach for Gypsy at Utica College.

Kathy has performed locally with Masterworks Chorale and College Hill Camerata at Hamilton College, B Sharp Musical Club, and Tapestry, the All Century Singers. Her Clinton Methodist choir has participated annually in Choirfest, a festival of church choirs in the Mohawk Valley.

Kathy gives piano lessons at her home in Utica and at the Methodist Church in Clinton.
